Range-extending Generator
A YASA electric motor coupled with a petrol or diesel engine creates a powerful range-extending (REx) solution. YASA motors also extend the range of a hybrid electric vehicle by providing reserve energy with minimum impact on the drivetrain layout and vehicle weight.
YASA motors and controllers – with their very small package and high power to weight ratio – are an ideal generator for the lightweight and efficient small engines used for range extension. Up to 100kW continuous generation can be delivered with a P400 series axial-flux motor.
